As business owners I think it safe to say that the majority of business owners have felt some effects of the Economy. I have been watching as I have seen many storefronts close their doors and wondered what the best way is to stop that from happening. Owning a storefront myself, I know this can seem to be a pretty hard task. But, also being an Online Entrepreneur I have learned many things that many Offline Entrepreneurs don’t learn. Recently I have put it all together and started a new Company called SureFire Business Strategies, to help offline businesses use Online Strategies to boost profits.
I want to share with you one company I have kept an eye on over the past year or so, it’s the Christian Book Store called Bereans. Having been a customer for years, I started noticing their stores looking a little bare. I figured they were feeling the effects of the economy were making adjusments.
A little later I noticed Bereans doing something very smart, they started a profile on Facebook. Not only that, but they were offering coupons to their Facebook friends and fans. I can’t begin to tell you how smart this is! Using Social Media Strategies like this is a great way to keep YOU in front of your customers without having a huge email list.
Then offering coupons on top of that is a great way to get those people to come back in the store.
Benefits of using Social Media Marketing:
- Most of it is all Free!
- HUGE amounts of people can be found there. (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Etc.)
- Keep You in front of your customers.
- Great source of getting traffic to your web site and/or store.
- Easy way to find out what the customers are looking for, what they like/dislike.
- Become an authority.
- And much more.
Now keep in mind, there is a right way and a wrong way to use Social Media, but if don’t correctly, it can be a powerful marketing tool.
Bereans and other businesses that choose to use Social Media as one of their Marketing Strategies, I believe will be the businesses that not only survive the economy, but make a profit doing it.
