Let’s face it, without more sales you are never going to grow your business. I have found that many small business owners are not truly aware of all their options when it comes to marketing strategies to grow their business.
Most brick and mortar businesses don’t use online strategies and for the few that do, they aren’t using the Internet to the fullest. The Internet can be a powerful way to generate extra income and more customers.
The following are 4 Strategies To Growing Your Small Business Online.

1. Establish A Web Presence.

Establishing a web presence is making your presence known online through web sites and social media sites. Web sites can be like your own virtual business card. If you don’t have a web site or professional blog, I highly recommend it. Let’s say a tourist comes to your town or city and does a Google search for your product or service, wouldn’t it be nice for them to find you instead of your competitors?

Depending on your business, having an eCommerce site might be beneficial to you. Having an eCommerce site is a great way to make more sales and target your products to everyone on the World Wide Web and not just your town or city.

If you’re looking for a professional Search Engine Optimized blog or web site, let us know!

2. Social Media Revolution.

This goes along with #1. Getting you and your business on different social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, LinkedIn and many more, is an awesome way to connect with your customers. The primary goal for using Social Media tools are to brand you as the authority in your niche and create a Tribe of loyal customers and fans.

When you are seen by a group of people as the authority and they know you, like you and trust you… You will make more sales! Not to mention, a lot of repeat sales. Plus, when you have a tribe of loyal customers, they also do a great job spreading the word about you and your business. So please don’t overlook these kind of Social Media Marketing Strategies.

I will also add, the majority of small businesses on Facebook and Twitter don’t truly understand how to maximize these tools. So please, take the time to learn how to do it the right way.

3. PPC or Pay Per Click Advertising.

PPC or what is also known as Pay Per Click Advertising in a highly effective way to get instant traffic to your site and even your store. The really cool part about PPC is that you only pay for results!

You can use PPC advertising on Google, which is also known as Google adwords. You can also do PPC at places like Yahoo and Facebook. This is a great way to get fast results and loads of traffic to your site. You can target where your ads show up by demographics, age, sex and interests. Which means if you own a store in a small town, you can make it to where your ads only show up for people who live in your town.

That is a powerful way to market even on a small budget. If you would like more information on PPC Advertising, check out the following resources:

4. Discussion Forums

This is another great way to position yourself as a professional in your Niche. Although, it can be time consuming, it can also have great benefits.

What you will need to do is, do a Google search for discussion forums in your Niche. For example, “Automotive Discussion Forums”. Once you find a few, you can sign up and start offering value advice to the different topics going on. This is also a great way to learn more about your customers and they questions they have.

These are all great and powerful ways to use the Internet to grow your business. If the Internet intimidates you and need someone to walk you through step by step on how to use these Internet Marketing Strategies, I encourage you to check out my Business Growth Virtual Workshop I am holding soon.

I wish you the best as you continue to move forward and grow your business!

Hey, Paul, you’ve got some good practical advice. Here are my 2 cents;

When it comes to establishing a web presence, commit to deliver quality content on a schedule and stay consistent! You’ll grow your community and traffic if people expect good stuff from your website and you actually deliver it.

Social networking sites are great as long as, like you said, you do it the right way. However, I would advise against joining too many. I typically tell my clients to pick 3 that you can commit to updating and engaging in. If you start a profile on too many, you’re really creating “ghost accounts.” When people try to interact with you they’ll be left in the cold because you don’t keep it up like you should.

Great write-up, keep up the good work.

Thanks for your comment Rod! I agree with everything you said…
Great point about not joining too many social networking sites, I recommend to my clients as well to only go with 3 to 4 main sites that I have found work the best.

You keep up the great work as well Rod! :)
