Fighting For Your Tribe

I ran across a cool post over at Tribal Seduction that had a video on it called “Are You Prepared To Get Bloody For Your Tribe?” that reminded me of a post I had written a while back on a blog that no longer exists. This post reminded me of some very important things that we as leaders need to remember…

As we go out Possessing our Promised Land in business and finances, we can’t forget about our fellow soldiers, our tribe that is depending on us to lead the way. There is a lot that can happen as we are going out taking ground. I look at all the things Joshua had to deal with when leading the Israelites to the Promised Land and even after they got there…

There were hard times, countless battles, enemies all around, betrayal, and times that were a bloody mess! But we can’t forget the victories as well! :)

I believe the question that is asked in the video forces the real leaders to rise up and causes many of the self proclaimed “gurus” to lower their head. The real leaders ARE willing to get bloody for their tribe, they will protect them and lead them to greatness.

Those of us that are leaders, it doesn’t matter if you are a boss, a leader of a ministry, a pastor or a coach in a membership site… It’s your job to lead your tribe, not out of selfish motivation and personal gain.

It’s our job to do the right thing even if our tribe thinks we are crazy! When we are moving forward in our business, there will be battles and in those battles we must make sure that our family and tribe doesn’t get hurt in the process.

How do you know if you are a leader who is willing to fight for your tribe? If you are the guy who is all “buddy buddy” with the people who you think you can make money off of, but don’t care about other people who really need your help. You’re not a valiant leader.

I was recently talking with someone who works for a guy who owns a painting company. He was telling me how they were painting a little old ladie’s house for much more money than the job was worth. Well the boss spent the whole time trying to get the lady who had many different health problems signed up with his health related MLM opportunity. Well, the women wouldn’t sign up and because of it the boss told his guys to only put one coat of paint on the house. What is that about?! That guy is only in it for himself, that guy is not a true leader that is willing to fight or get bloody for his tribe. In fact, that guy doesn’t have a tribe!

No matter what kind of leadership you are in, never forget there will come a day where you will stand before God Almighty and give an acount for what you have done.

Let’s make what he do and how we lead our tribe count for something.

Keep moving forward.
